10X Research has proposed two theories regarding the identity of Bitcoin creator Satoshi Nakamoto, as American cable channel HBO prepares to air a documentary claiming to reveal the true identity of the pseudonymous figure. The report suggests Nick Szabo, a renowned cryptographer and a key developer of smart contracts, as a potential candidate. It highlights the similarities between Szabo's concept of Bit Gold and Bitcoin's core architecture, as well as the resemblance between his blog posts and the Bitcoin whitepaper drafted by Satoshi Nakamoto in 2008. Alternatively, the report raises the possibility of US National Security Agency (NSA) involvement. The NSA has extensive expertise in cryptographic research, and in 1996, it published a paper titled 'How to Make a Mint: The Cryptography of Anonymous Electronic Cash,' which laid the groundwork for Bitcoin. Meanwhile, HBO's documentary 'The Money Electric' is set to air on HBO on the 8th at 9 PM (ET). It remains to be seen whether the documentary will shed light on the true identity of Satoshi Nakamoto or add to the ongoing speculation surrounding the enigmatic figure.
