One of the Splicers' earliest clients were the Sandmasters of Neri, a coalition of desert tribes. They requested that the Splicers forge ritualistic spears containing grains of "soul sand" from their most sacred temple. These spears are said - in the hands of tribal champions - to be able to control the sands of the Nerinese deserts themselves!
