Caroline Ellison Requests Privacy for Supporters Ahead of Sentencing
Caroline Ellison, former CEO of Alameda Research, has requested that the Southern District of New York redact the names and personal details of her supporters before her sentencing on September 24, 2024. This request, filed by her attorney Anjan Sahni, is driven by concerns over potential harassment and doxxing. Ellison’s legal team argues that disclosing such information could reveal sensitive details about her living situation and health.
Ellison, who pleaded guilty to multiple fraud charges following the collapse of FTX, has been largely out of the public eye since testifying against former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried. Although she faces a maximum sentence of 110 years, her cooperation in the case may result in a reduced sentence. Her upcoming sentencing will mark her as the third defendant in the FTX case to face judgment, following Ryan Salame’s 90-month sentence and Bankman-Fried’s 25-year term.
