US SEC rejects Solana’s spot ETF application

The Block reports that the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has rejected the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) Solana (SOL) spot ETF 19b-4s (rule change) application, citing sources familiar with the matter.

CBOE previously filed 19b-4s documents with the SEC in July to list the Solana (SOL) spot ETF of VanEck and 21Shares, but removed the application from their website on the 20th of this month.

The media explained, “As previously reported, the SEC has already conveyed concerns to CBOE regarding the issuance of the Solana physical ETF, and the rejection of the application appears to be related to this.” Regarding this, 21Shares told the media, “We cannot comment on regulatory approvals or rejections.
