WazirX, an Indian crypto exchange, is set for a crucial maintenance period from 6 pm on Aug. 15 to 2 am IST on Aug. 16. This follows a significant hack on July 18, where $234.9 million in crypto assets were stolen. Detected by Web3 security firm Cyvers, the breach involved suspicious transactions from WazirX’s Safe Multisig wallet on Ethereum.

The exchange aims to restore account balances and reverse trades made post-hack to mitigate user losses. A dispute over the breach's responsibility has emerged between WazirX and Liminal, with both sides blaming each other. During the maintenance, WazirX will migrate remaining assets to new multisignature wallets for enhanced security.
