Sonic SVM’s mainnet launch nears as testnet phases boost engagement and platform stability.
Sonic SVM, the pioneering gaming SVM on the Solana network, has reported substantial activity on its testnet, dubbed “Sonic Origins.” This initial phase has witnessed over 1 million monthly active wallets, generating more than 600 million transactions. This significant participation underscores the scalability and efficiency of Sonic’s Layer 2 (L2) solutions tailored for web3 gaming environments.
During the Sonic Origins phase, the testnet was primarily focused on evaluating the performance capabilities of Sonic’s infrastructure, including throughput and stability across various gaming applications. Participants had access to eight games, such as Rage Effect, JogoJogo, and LowLifeForms, providing a diverse range of gaming experiences on the Solana blockchain.
This is evident from the uptake of a prediction-based game known as JogoJogo that garnered over 250,000 wallets proving the level of interaction of the offerings and the sound technical infrastructure of the Sonic SVM. They are specifically built to reveal the opportunities to launch SVM- and EVM-based within a single system.
With the testnet advancing to the next stage of the Sonic Frontier testnet, Sonic SVM aims to integrate more games and ecosystem partners. This update is expected to feature over 10 new games and an amalgamation of other popular Solana protocols to enable the users to interact within the testnet much more quickly.
The Sonic Frontier phase will also see the implementation of HyperGrid technology, a scaling solution that facilitates horizontal scalability and can handle millions of requests per second. This technology is crucial for managing the increased load as transactions are finalized on Solana’s Layer 1 (L1). Additionally, the HyperGrid Shared State Network (HSSN) will expand its network of validators to ensure efficient transaction sequencing and finalization.
With the successful deployment of the Sonic Frontier phase, the groundwork is being laid for Sonic SVM’s transition from testnet to mainnet.
During the interview, Chris Zhu, co-founder of Sonic SVM, stated that he has confidence in the continual user participation and the building of an involved fan base for Sonic SVM. Zhu predicts that the following testnet stage will enhance the organization’s technological efficiency and establish itself as a Solana web3 gaming industry pioneer.
