US presidential candidate Donald Trump has unveiled an ambitious new plan for Bitcoin, revealing that his vision extends far beyond what was announced at the recent Bitcoin conference.

In a FOX interview released hours ago, Trump suggested that Bitcoin could play a pivotal role in addressing the nation’s $35 trillion debt. "Who knows, maybe we can pay our national debt with crypto," Trump stated. "We will give them some Bitcoin and delete our $35 trillion debt."

At the recent Bitcoin conference, Trump had already promised to use Bitcoin as a strategic reserve asset and to make the USA a "Bitcoin superpower." His latest comments indicate that his plans are even more extensive.

Trump expressed enthusiasm about Bitcoin, calling it "very interesting" and "high-end." He noted its progress and relatively free regulation as key factors in its development. "This is a different currency and something that will benefit the country," Trump said. He also criticized President Biden for trying to block crypto, asserting, "He has no idea what this is. Others will adopt it if we don't. It's already a pretty big market. We can be leaders in this field."

Currently, the US controls approximately 200,000 BTC, worth over $12 billion at current prices. Cryptocurrencies, especially Bitcoin, are becoming significant in the US election discourse, with the Republican wing developing policies and taking concrete steps towards crypto adoption. Recently, Republican Senator Cynthia Lummis proposed a bill requiring the U.S. Treasury to buy 1 million BTC over five years, which is expected to be reviewed next year.
