Germany’s Top 3 banks + other leading companie have developed a new digital money specifically designed for corporations. 🇩🇪
A new report around the proof-of-concept is LOADED with evidence of $QNT involvement.
Here’s everything I found:
In Autumn 2023, a group of banks (Commerzbank, Deutsche Bank, DZ Bank, Helaba and Unicredit) and industrial firms (Siemens, Mercedes Benz, Airplus, BASF and Evonik) conducted a proof-of-concept lasting approximately 7 months.
Out of it came the “𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐓𝐨𝐤𝐞𝐧,” or 𝐂𝐁𝐌𝐓...
A secure and digital form of money for companies to transfer funds without intermediaries, solving for cost, efficiency, and things like conditional payments coded into smart contracts.
This is not a CBDC.
In fact, the CBMT will lean on traditional interbank settlement systems if no wholesale CBDC is common amongst the participants.
$QNT 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭.
• The experiment ran 3 proof-of-concepts, one of which was built on Nexi’s SIAChain. SIAChain’s DLT infrastructure = $QNT.
• All 3 proof-of-concepts include an Implementation Manager who “provides an API for services shared across DLTs.” 👀
• The report also states “APIs need to be leveraged in order for bank systems to communicate with the system for a variety of critical services.”
• The first 2 “key design principles” are interoperability and programmability via smart contracts.
• There will be a “single technical token issuer.”
But there’s more.
Early on, the report references “two similar concepts” to what they’re building with the CBMT…
• The BIS’ Unified Ledger
• The UK RLN
Sound familiar?
Probably because both are using $QNT (RLN confirmed, BIS 90% confident).
In fact, the CBMT report says it’ll likely be used WITHIN the RLN. In their own words —
“𝘐𝘵 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘣𝘦 𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘧𝘶𝘳𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘦𝘹𝘱𝘭𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢 𝘊𝘉𝘔𝘛 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘯𝘦𝘵𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬𝘴 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘙𝘓𝘕, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘦𝘹𝘱𝘭𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘢 𝘊𝘉𝘔𝘛 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘣𝘦 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘢 𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘧𝘪𝘦𝘥 𝘭𝘦𝘥𝘨𝘦𝘳 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘱𝘵. [𝘞𝘦’𝘳𝘦 𝘣𝘶𝘪𝘭𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨] 𝘰𝘱𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘭𝘦 𝘊𝘉𝘔𝘛 𝘣𝘦𝘵𝘸𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘣𝘢𝘯𝘬𝘴 𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘙𝘓𝘕.”
Earlier this week, the RLN confirmed that in mid-September they’ll be sharing how they plan to “connect with the wider payments and settlement landscape.”
Perhaps the CBMT will be part of the announcement.
