Tether Operations Limited has joined forces with the Vietnam Blockchain Association (VBA) to promote education on blockchain and digital assets in Vietnam. This collaboration aims to increase awareness and understanding of blockchain technologies nationwide.
Through this partnership, Tether and VBA will conduct workshops and conferences to educate public stakeholders about blockchain technology. These events will facilitate knowledge sharing and capacity building within the industry.
Vietnam’s growing interest in Crypto
Leveraging its recently established education unit, Tether EDU, Tether aims to boost blockchain awareness in Vietnam with the support of VBA. Based in Ho Chi Minh City, the VBA organizes nationwide workshops and conferences and advocates for blockchain technology, serving as a central hub for interested individuals.
Paolo Ardoino, CEO of Tether, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “As a leading voice in blockchain adoption, the Vietnam Blockchain Association’s work aligns well with our mission to promote education in blockchain. We are excited to collaborate with VBA to educate about blockchain technologies as practical solutions to the unique challenges faced by Vietnamese communities.”
Vietnam has seen a significant increase in cryptocurrency adoption. Last year, it was ranked the third-largest cryptocurrency gainer in the world, following the US and UK, with nearly $1.8 billion in gains. This places Vietnam among the top five Asian countries for cryptocurrency gains.
Approximately 17% of Vietnam’s population owns or has cryptocurrencies, highlighting the country’s growing interest in digital assets.
Tether’s Blockchain focuses on youth
This collaboration is crucial for Tether’s broader strategy to advance cryptocurrency education in emerging markets. One of the main initiatives under this partnership includes organizing conferences in major cities like Hanoi, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City.
Phan Duc Trung, vice chairman of VBA and chairman of the Academy of Blockchain and AI Innovation (ABAII), commented on the collaboration, saying, “This strategic collaboration with Tether will make an important contribution to promoting blockchain education in Vietnam.”
Tether will also support the VBA’s UniTour program, which aims to develop educational content with ABAII. The UniTour is a joint initiative between VBA and ABAII, targeting university and college students nationwide to foster interest in blockchain technology and encourage career or startup pursuits in the industry.
Additionally, Tether has revealed its support for Web3 projects and startups as part of this collaboration. This partnership between Tether and VBA signifies a major effort to promote blockchain education in Vietnam, potentially leading to increased adoption and innovation of blockchain technology within the country.
