Three years after a flash loan attack on PancakeBunny, a DeFi protocol on the Binance Smart Chain, stolen funds have resurfaced. The protocol lost 697,000 BUNNY and 114,000 BNB in the attack, leading to a 95% drop in the value of its BUNNY token. PancakeBunny was unable to recover the funds and transformed into a DAO. On July 7, a wallet linked to the hacker transferred 1,002 Ether (ETH) of stolen funds, worth about $3 million, to privacy protocol Tornado Cash. The hacker reportedly still holds $11.4 million of DAI. Crypto security firm CertiK has emphasized the importance of preventive measures in protecting against such hacks.
