Linear is a cross-chain compatible, decentralized synthetic asset protocol, which allows users to create, trade, and manage synthetic assets (Liquids).
Linear is built on both Binance Smart Chain and Ethereum, allowing users to swap Linear’s assets across both DeFi ecosystems and use them as DeFi building blocks.
LINA is the native utility token of Linear and has the following use cases:
Governance: LINA token holders will be able to vote on protocol topics such as synthetic asset listings, fee revenue splits, collateral ratio, and other Linear improvement proposals.
Staking: LINA token holders are able to stake and collateralize their LINA tokens on the protocol to generate ℓUSD.
ℓUSD can be used to purchase synthetic assets on Linear Exchange, or be used in other DeFi protocols.
Users who create ℓUSD are eligible for staking rewards and a share of the trading fees generated on Linear Exchange.
The project raised 2.36MM USD in the following sale rounds:
Seed round: 2.40% of the total token supply sold at $0.00125 USD / LINA.
Private sale round 1: 3.50% of the total token supply sold at $0.00200 USD / LINA.
Private sale round 2: 2.67% of the total token supply sold at $0.00300 USD / LINA.
Private sale round 3: 0.08% of the total token supply sold at $0.00350 USD / LINA.
Public sale round: 0.63% of the total token supply sold at $0.00450 USD / LINA.
As of March 18th 2020, the total token supply of LINA is 10,000,000,000 and the circulating supply when listed on Binance is 15.63%.

1. What is Linear (LINA)?
Linear is a cross-chain compatible, decentralized synthetic asset protocol to cost-effectively and quickly create, trade, and manage synthetic assets (Liquids).
This is achieved by leveraging fast public blockchains such as BSC as a solution. This brings scalability and cost-savings versus existing solutions and composability between DeFi assets across different blockchains. Linear’s first cross-chain integration is with BSC followed by an integration with Polkadot.
Although Linear’s transactions are done on BSC, Linear maintains connectivity with the Ethereum network through its swap functionality. This allows users to convert their Liquids between Ethereum (ERC-20) and BSC (BEP-20), allowing composability and accessibility between DeFi protocols on Ethereum and BSC.
Linear's token (LINA) serves as the backbone to the protocol and is used in both of Linear's dApps, Linear Buildr and Linear Exchange. LINA tokens have the following use cases:
LINA token holders are able to stake and collateralize their LINA tokens on the protocol and mint ℓUSD. ℓUSD can be used to purchase Liquids on Linear Exchange, or be used in other DeFi protocols. Users who mint ℓUSD will also be eligible for staking rewards, and a share of the trading fees generated on Linear Exchange.
LINA token holders will be able to participate in the Linear DAO, and vote on protocol topics such as synthetic asset listings, fee revenue splits, collateral ratio, and other Linear improvement proposals. At a later stage, the Linear DAO will also vote on the distribution of staking rewards and reserve tokens.

LINA token release schedule
The chart above represents the number and breakdown of all LINA tokens that are to be released into circulation on a monthly basis. The release of reserve tokens (15% of total token supply) will be determined at a later stage via DAO Governance.
The initial staking rewards will be sourced from the staking rewards pool (40% of total token supply) and the platform trading fees. As Linear matures, a greater portion of staking rewards will be sourced from platform trading fees.
