A 12-year-old boy named Erik Finman became a millionaire by investing in Bitcoin.
In 2011, Erik made a deal with his parents to avoid going back to school if he could prove he could make money outside of traditional education. He received $1,245 from his grandmother and decided to invest in Bitcoin, which had been launched in 2009 and was trading at around $12 per coin at the time. This investment got him about 103 BTC.
By December 2017, when Erik was 18, Bitcoin's price had surged to around $20,000 per coin, making his initial investment worth approximately $2.07 million.
