The Indian cryptocurrency exchange WazirX has reportedly been hacked, with security platform Cyvers identifying multiple suspicious transactions involving the exchange's multisig wallet on the Ethereum network. According to Cyvers, over $234.9 million worth of crypto has been stolen, with the hacker’s address already swapping PEPE, GALA, and USDT to Ethereum, and continuing to swap other assets. The hacker's address, funded by Tornado Cash, currently holds $211 million, primarily in Shiba Inu, Ethereum, MATIC, Floki, and FTM. Despite Cyvers' attempts to contact WazirX, there has been no response. Popular on-chain detective ZachXBT also shared the incident and the hacker's address on Telegram. In response, WazirX acknowledged the security breach in their Telegram announcement channel, stating that their team is investigating and that they have temporarily paused INR and crypto withdrawals.

Several Mt. Gox creditors are facing security concerns due to multiple login attempts on their accounts. Within the past 24 hours, many creditors have reported suspicious login notifications, leading to fears of a potential brute-force attack on the Mt. Gox system. Amidst these concerns, the Mt. Gox website was temporarily taken down for maintenance. Creditors have been actively discussing the issue on the r/mtgoxinsolvency subreddit, especially since this situation coincides with the exchange's ongoing process of distributing Bitcoin to its creditors. Some users have reported up to 15 login attempts within a short period, sparking panic and speculation about a coordinated attack. Recently, Mt. Gox has started returning funds to its creditors, moving billions in Bitcoin, including to Kraken. Two Japanese exchanges, BitBank and SBI VC Trade, have already received funds and initiated distribution. The Mt. Gox claims website is currently down for maintenance in response to the reported issues. According to Goxxed, the starting balance before distribution was 138,984.4 BTC. So far, 91,755.6 BTC have been moved, leaving a current balance of 47,228.7 BTC. 4o
