Explaining #BitcoinHalving for the newbies...

💡💡

Imagine you have a big bag of candy, and every year you share half of the bag with your friends. Bitcoin halving is like when you only get half as much candy as before. So, the amount of new Bitcoins that are made gets cut in half every four years. This makes #Bitcoin more rare and valuable over time.
For example, when Bitcoin was first created, miners would get 50 Bitcoins as a reward for solving a math problem. Then, in 2012, the reward was cut in half to 25 Bitcoins. In 2016, it was cut in half again to 12.5 Bitcoins. And in 2020, it was cut in half once more to 6.25 Bitcoins.

A fact about #Bitcoinhalving is that it is built into the code of Bitcoin to happen every four years, until all 21 million Bitcoins are mined. This helps to control the supply of Bitcoin and prevent inflation.
