Is the crowdfunding trend heating up again?
Cryptocurrency projects often raise funds from the community through ICOs, IEOs, IDOs, or from launchpad platforms.
2017 - 2018: Emerged as a major trend leading the market with amounts raised by projects reaching $1.7 billion and $4.6 billion respectively.
In the past two years, this trend has been largely overlooked, with fundraising amounts in 2022 and 2023 reaching $251 million and $133 million.
However, in Q1/2024, the amount raised by projects through community crowdfunding has almost matched that of 2023 (currently at $124 million).
Many opportunities are emerging in prominent ecosystems with a lot of fundraising activity, such as Solana, Sui, TON, Ronin, and zkSync.
