Shiba Inu Lead Developer Hints at Progress in AI
Shytoshi Kusama, the lead developer of meme coin Shiba Inu, recently sparked curiosity with an ambiguous reaction to a tweet about pivoting to decentralization.
Kusama simply responded “Captain Obvious” to a tweet stating, “If you’re in AI, pivot to decentralization.” This cryptic reply seems to imply that Shiba Inu is already focused on both AI and decentralization.
Is Shiba Inu exploring AI?
Shiba Inu has previously unveiled plans to integrate AI tools and work towards complete decentralization. In July, Kusama emphasized the importance of governance for sustainable autonomy. He also noted foundational progress on implementing a decentralized structure.
The meme coin’s collaboration with AI firm Bad Idea was announced earlier this year. BAD explained that the partnership aims to enhance Shiba Inu’s Layer 2 solution, Shibarium, using AI capabilities. Additionally, in October, Kusama teased upcoming AI projects jointly developed with Bad Idea.
Decentralization has long been central to Shiba Inu’s roadmap. In a 2021 blog post, pseudonymous founder Ryoshi outlined a vision for SHIB to become “an experiment in decentralized spontaneous community building.”
By hinting that a pivot is unnecessary, Kusama implies that Shiba Inu is actively developing solutions for AI and decentralization. While brief, his remark reassures the community that core elements of SHIB’s vision are progressing behind the scenes.
