Current Status of Binance & Crypto in Pakistan (2025)
1. Regulatory Framework is Being Developed
Pakistan has formed the Pakistan Crypto Council (PCC) to develop laws for cryptocurrency and virtual assets.
Binance founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ) has been appointed as a strategic advisor to this council.

2. Legal Status of Virtual Assets
The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) clarified that crypto/virtual assets are not declared illegal in Pakistan.
Earlier banks were only warned to be careful because there were no clear regulations.
However, virtual assets are NOT legal tender (not official currency).

3. New Regulatory Authority Created
Pakistan has established the Pakistan Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (PVARA).
This body will issue licenses, regulate, and monitor virtual asset service providers.
