According to PANews, executives from Bitcoin mining company Marathon Digital met with Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chairman Jamie R. Harrison and his advisors earlier this month. Jayson Browder, Senior Vice President of Government Affairs at Marathon Digital, stated that the meeting took place about a week ago. The discussions focused on ongoing efforts to reduce methane and carbon emissions associated with Bitcoin mining, as well as exploring additional methods to mitigate the environmental impact of Bitcoin mining operations.

The participants also reviewed recent polling data indicating an increase in both retail and institutional investment in cryptocurrencies in the United States. This meeting comes amid signs that the Democratic Party has softened its stance on cryptocurrencies in the weeks leading up to the presidential election. Some experts predict that the outcome of the presidential election will be decided by a narrow margin.
