According to U.Today, Elon Musk, the serial tech entrepreneur and founder of the X platform and xAI start-up, has emphasized the importance of his AI company, xAI, and its product, Grok, succeeding in the competitive market. Musk took to Twitter to express his belief that training a non-woke AI is crucial for the future of humanity, hence the need for xAI and Grok to thrive. He also shared an image of the Knights of the Round Table, with King Arthur signed in as 'ChatGPT' and a knight to his right representing the AI being developed by Mark Zuckerberg's Meta.
In a recent public discussion, Musk highlighted the importance of training AI to be truth-seeking and curious, which he believes will benefit humanity in the future. He stressed that AI should be taught to speak the truth, even if it is politically or socially incorrect. Musk also made a reference to the science fiction movie '2001: A Space Odyssey', where the AI character Hal ends up killing the astronaut crew. He concluded by stating that as time progresses, the proportion of biological intelligence will decrease, while that of artificial intelligence will increase.
In response to Musk's statements, Erik Voorhees, CEO of cryptocurrency exchange ShapeShift, shared his views on Grok. Voorhees argued that Grok remains 'centralized and closed-source', suggesting Venice AI as a better alternative. However, Bitcoin advocate Jeff Kirdeikis disagreed with Voorhees, stating that he had tried Venice AI and found it no better when asked about many controversial topics.
Musk had previously announced an upcoming update for Grok, the 1.5 version release, during an X Space event. He emphasized that 'all the code and data is open source', allowing anyone to check Grok for themselves.
