The Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office has arrested two suspects, identified as "A" in their 30s and "B" in their 20s, on charges of violating the Act on the Protection of Virtual Asset Service Users, YTN reports. A and B are accused of illegally profiting around 7 billion won (about $5.7 million) by manipulating cryptocurrency prices. Prosecutors allege that they inflated transaction volume through false purchase orders. The Financial Supervisory Commission referred the case to the prosecution last October, marking the first instance of a violation of the Virtual Assets Law being investigated by authorities on a fast-track basis.
