In 2019, Changpeng Zhao (CZ), the CEO of Binance, made a bold bet with John McAfee, the founder of McAfee Antivirus.
McAfee, known for his unspoken personality, predicted that Bitcoin (BTC ) would reach $1 million by the end of 2020. CZ, on the other hand, was skeptical.
The Bet:
If $BTC reached $1 million by the end of 2020, CZ would eat his hat (literally) and give McAfee 1 BTC.
However, if $BTC failed to reach $1 million, McAfee would buy and hold 1 $BNB for a year.
The Moral Of The Story
While the itself was lighthearted and entertaining, it highlights the unpredictability of the cryptocurrency market.
It also showcases CZ’s confidence in the $BNB token, which has since become one of the top performing cryptocurrencies.
