Web3 always had a problem—it lacked adoption.

It’s no surprise, really.

Web3 was never about the "front end" and the user.

It was a “back-end revolution”—blockchains, smart contracts, decentralized ledgers. That's all amazing technology, but it's invisible to the average user. Moreover, to most, it felt abstract, complex, and—let’s be honest—something they don't care about.

AI changes everything.

Unlike Web3, AI conquered the masses with tangible use cases in just a few days.

Tools like ChatGPT, MidJourney, and autonomous agents make the power of AI visible. You can see it, use it, and benefit from it every day.

And the connection of AI and Web3 will be the next big thing.

AI Agents: The Bridge Between Web3 and Adoption

Humans struggle with Web3. Wallets, gas fees, private keys—it’s confusing and full of friction. AI agents don’t care.

  • AI agents can navigate the Web3 world effortlessly. They can execute trades, optimize DeFi strategies, interact with dApps, and manage wallets autonomously.

  • They provide a seamless user experience that Web3 desperately lacks. You won’t need to click 10 buttons or switch blockchains (heck, you don't have to know about chains)—AI does it for you.

  • Combined, AI and Web3 will unlock an entirely new way to read, write, and take action in the web.

AI — The Final Booster Web3 Needs

I see AI as the final booster Web3 needs to achieve its potential. It actually feels like Web3 was created with AI in mind. Here are a few use cases to think about:

  • Simplify DeFi: Imagine an AI agent that auto-allocates your funds across protocols to maximize yield.

  • Power GameFi: Autonomous NPCs, AI-driven in-game economies, and smarter, dynamic gameplay.

  • Boost Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Networks (DePIN): AI can optimize resource allocation across decentralized networks, from storage to energy grids.

What Does This Mean for Crypto Investors?

From my perspective, the course is clear: AI projects and DePIN will explode and lead during the next years.

On top of that, "Traditional" Web3 sectors—like DeFi, gaming, and NFTs—will have a second life powered by AI’s ability to automate, optimize, and simplify.

However, let's be real: This won’t happen overnight, but we’re already seeing early signs of it.

Projects to Watch

There are tons of DeAI and DePIN projects, and we see new concepts rolling out every week. Therefore, I will shortly create a dedicated post where I have a closer look at these projects.

  1. Artificial Superintelligence Alliance $FET — A platform for building and deploying autonomous AI agents. Think of it as the backbone for AI automation across Web3.

  2. Bittensor $TAO — A decentralized network of machine learning models. It rewards contributors for computing power and AI model development.

  3. Virtuals Protocol $VIRTUAL — A decentralized AI platform for creating and managing virtual agents, enabling lifelike AI-driven characters and services across the metaverse and Web3.

  4. The Graph $GRT — The indexing protocol for Web3. It organizes and queries blockchain data, empowering AI systems with fast and reliable access to decentralized data.

As mentioned, these are just examples and do not represent any investment advice.

The Big Picture

AI solves Web3’s user experience problem.

Web3 provides AI with trust, transparency, and ownership.

Together, they’re building the Post-Web Era—a new internet where humans and machines work seamlessly.

For crypto, this is a massive opportunity:

  • Expect AI tokens to outperform.

  • DePIN networks will thrive as AI integrates into decentralized infrastructure.

  • Legacy Web3 areas—like DeFi—will see a revitalization.

This is just the beginning.
