Lido Finance is winding down its operations on the Polygon network, citing limited user adoption and a strategic shift towards Ethereum. The decision followed a community vote where 99% supported the move. Challenges on Polygon included high maintenance demands and insufficient rewards, compounded by a DeFi shift towards zkEVM solutions. As of December 16, staking on Polygon is halted, but users can withdraw staked MATIC until June 16, 2025. Withdrawals will pause briefly in January. Lido, the largest liquid staking protocol, continues to focus on Ethereum amidst evolving DeFi dynamics.
