Though CZ has shifted his focus to Giggle Academy, the community still views him as the CEO of crypto.
The crypto community views Changpeng Zhao, fondly referred to as CZ, as not just a former CEO of Binance but as the CEO of the entire crypto world. On November 26, Chief of Telos, John Lilic, made a tweet that President-elect Donald Trump should pardon CZ. Lilic stated that this would enable CZ to step into Binance again, following which, the crypto industry could mature and realize its full potential.
However, CZ responded to the tweet on December 2nd stating, “No wish to be a CEO again.” Yet, he was ready to accept the pardon from Trump. In 2017, the young businessman Changpeng Zhao started Binance. Within a year, it became the largest cryptocurrency exchange by volume and attained a remarkable position in the crypto space.
The situation was unfortunate for CZ during 2023. When the Binance exchange was at its peak, CZ faced allegations and was made to step down from his position. He pleaded guilty to violating US money-laundering laws and was sentenced to four months of prison.
After his prison life, he first reappeared at Binance Blockchain Week in Dubai. At the event, he revealed his plans for building the Giggle Academy, which is a free-for-all education project for 1-12 grades. He said,
“I finally got away from that post…today, if I was allowed to go back, I probably won’t”
Meanwhile, on the cryptocurrency leaderboard, XRP flipped BNB, SOL, and USDT. Currently, BNB stands at the 6th position, with DOGE right behind its tail. With the comments on the tweet, it was evident that the market still misses CZ’s leadership.
