Justin Ðrake: The Ethereum Foundation is investing tens of millions into zkVMs (Zero-Knowledge Virtual Machines), currently including three projects, focusing on zkRISC-V formal verification, Poseidon cryptanalysis and L2beat for zkVMs. Some zkVMs are designed to be compatible with EVM, allowing developers to directly port existing smart contracts.
