Former CFTC Chairman “Trump-era SEC Will Drop Ripple Lawsuit
Former U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) Chairman Chris Giancarlo, known as “Crypto Daddy,” recently told Fox Business that the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) may drop its case against Ripple (XRP). “The SEC under the incoming Donald Trump administration is likely to drop all the cases it has already lost,” he added. Earlier, a U.S. court formally ruled that XRP tokens sold on the secondary market are not securities, a decision that the SEC has appealed. Ripple filed a cross-appeal in October.
