The U.S. Department of Justice has announced that a federal grand jury in Miami has charged nine individuals with laundering money from U.S. drug sales into cryptocurrency for Mexican and Co
lombian cartels. The defendants allegedly used a network of black market cryptocurrency launderers and unlicensed money transmitters to facilitate the laundering of funds from 2020 to 2023.
