Tyler Winklevoss, co-founder of Gemini cryptocurrency exchange, has accused Gary Gensler, chair of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), of deliberately causing damage to the industry and country. Winklevoss claims that Gensler’s actions were intentional, as part of a personal political agenda, regardless of consequences, and that he should never hold a position of influence again.
Winklevoss has been a long-time critic of the SEC and Gensler, who he believes uses the “regulation through enforcement” doctrine. Currently, there is a lawsuit being filed against the SEC and Gensler by 18 U.S. states, accusing them of “gross government overreach.”
