Matthew Sigel, Head of Digital Assets Research at VanEck, suggested that the U.S. government partner with Bitcoin miners in the “Freedom Cities” initiative, receiving a royalty on every Bitcoin mined in exchange for tax-free selling rights in certain cases. This proposal could incentivize miners and generate revenue for the government while promoting energy independence, carbon reduction, and sustainable mining practices.
The idea also suggests that Native American reservations could be ideal locations for such projects, as they already have a significant amount of sovereignty.
