Cronos Labs has expanded its collaboration with Google Cloud, which becomes the main provider for its infrastructure alongside Crypto.com.

The agreement aims to strengthen security, increase adoption by developers, and promote technical innovation. In this article, we see all the details.

Google Cloud becomes the main provider and operator of validator nodes together with Crypto.com for the Cronos blockchain

Cronos Labs, a blockchain startup accelerator dedicated to the development of the Cronos ecosystem, has announced the expansion of its strategic partnership with Google Cloud.

This agreement aims to consolidate the role of Google Cloud as the main provider of cloud services for Cronos and its ecosystem, promoting security, technical innovation, and adoption by developers.

One of the most significant aspects of this collaboration is the entry of Google Cloud into the network of Cronos validators, composed of 32 nodes.

The validators play a crucial role in ensuring the security and stability of the network, confirming and producing new blocks every few seconds.

The participation of Google Cloud strengthens Cronos’s strategy of working with open-source partners equipped with strong technical skills.

Among the main contributors to the Cronos ecosystem are Crypto.com, Blockdaemon, Ubisoft, and Exaion, names known for their expertise and reliability.

Cronos Labs is leveraging Google Cloud’s infrastructure to support Cronos zkEVM, a Layer-2 network based on ZK Chain technology.

This network extends the universe of Cronos into the Layer 2 ecosystem of Ethereum, combining the forces of Cronos EVM and the Cronos POS network to offer superior performance and greater accessibility to Web3 users.

The new high-performance infrastructure of Cronos zkEVM uses advanced technologies from Google Cloud.

Among these, Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) Autopilot and Gateway to manage the network infrastructure, AlloyDB as a PostgreSQL-compatible database optimized for zkEVM, and Google Compute Engine to generate zero-knowledge proofs with NVIDIA L4 GPUs.

The integration of these technologies, combined with Google Cloud’s expertise in AI and data analysis, positions Cronos for accelerated growth and continuous innovation in the Web3 landscape.

Developer adoption and opportunities at the intersection between AI and blockchain

The collaboration between Cronos and Google Cloud will focus on increasing adoption by developers, exploring opportunities at the intersection of artificial intelligence and blockchain.

A significant example is the launch of the complete Cronos blockchain datasets on the Google Cloud platform, including both the Cronos EVM chain and the zkEVM chain.

The analysis function of blockchain by Google Cloud offers indexed data available through BigQuery, allowing analysis with SQL.

These datasets open new possibilities, such as the ability for users to query the blockchain using natural language or allow AI agents to perform transactions on the blockchain.

Furthermore, companies and users can identify trading opportunities by detecting trends in public blockchain data.

To promote innovation, Cronos Labs and Google Cloud will organize virtual hackathons. In this way, offering developers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge AI and blockchain technologies and to connect with industry experts.

Value package for startups in the Cronos Accelerator program

Another focal point of the partnership is the support for startups in the Cronos Accelerator program.

Cronos Labs will collaborate with the Google for Startups Cloud Program to provide targeted resources to startups developing Web3 applications integrated with AI within the Cronos ecosystem.

The startups in the program will benefit from a dedicated package of Google Cloud services, educational resources, and mentorship on how to build and scale applications using artificial intelligence.

Furthermore, they will be able to access benefits through Google products and its Web3 partner ecosystem, thus facilitating their growth and their success.

Ken Timsit, general manager of Cronos Labs, commented:

“The partnership with Google Cloud brings concrete value to end users and developers. It improves the security and reliability of the network, makes the Cronos Accelerator program even more attractive for startups, and paves the way for a new generation of decentralized applications, thanks to the processing, computing, and artificial intelligence capabilities of Google Cloud.”

Rishi Ramchandani, head of Web3 for APAC at Google Cloud, stated:

“Google Cloud is strengthening its commitment to Web3 by joining the Cronos ecosystem as a validator node operator. We will collaborate to provide developers with the resources needed to build innovative decentralized applications, leveraging Google Cloud’s secure infrastructure, its advanced AI capabilities, and powerful data analysis tools.”

This partnership represents a fundamental step for the future of Cronos, positioning it as a cutting-edge ecosystem in the blockchain and Web3 world, with the support of one of the most advanced cloud providers in the world.
