The Ethereum Foundation has launched the Mekong Testnet, allowing developers to test new features from the upcoming Pectra upgrade. The Mekong Testnet includes all Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs) for Pectra and focuses on enhancing the Ethereum network, such as user experience (UX), staking processes, and deposit and withdrawal mechanisms.
This testing environment will help wallet developers and stakers prepare for Pectra’s rollout. The Pectra upgrade aims to improve scalability, efficiency, and security by introducing Verkle Trees to streamline blockchain data storage and enhance Ethereum’s execution and consensus layers.
