CZ, who was released last month, took to social media on October 21, 2024, to address a troubling rise in fake accounts using his name and image to deceive crypto enthusiasts. In a tweet, CZ highlighted the growing issue of impersonators and made it clear that any account other than his official one is fraudulent.

“Beware of fake 'CZ' accounts,” he urged, reminding followers to stay vigilant. One particularly dangerous fake profile has already garnered 39,000 followers, closely mimicking CZ’s real account by copying his profile picture, bio, and even posting style.

The Fake CZ Frenzy: How It’s Happening

The wave of imposters isn’t limited to fake profiles. Deepfake videos featuring CZ have also been circulating, with scammers using these doctored clips to promote fraudulent crypto schemes that falsely claim his endorsement. CZ has stressed that these projects are fake and urged followers to stay far away.

This isn’t the first time CZ has had to warn the public. Even before his imprisonment for offenses related to Binance’s anti-money laundering (AML) practices, the crypto world has seen scammers try to leverage his name for personal gain. But now, with his increased visibility after his release, the number of imposters is growing.
