U.S. Department of Homeland Security: More than 500 ransomware attacks have been prevented since 2021
According to a report by Bloomberg, the cybercrime division of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security has stated that since 2021, they have prevented over 500 ransomware attacks and seized billions of dollars in cryptocurrency. The Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) is currently taking measures to prevent hacking attacks before they occur. HSI has prevented 150 ransomware plots between October 2023 and September 30 of this year, and a total of 537 intrusion incidents since the operation began in 2021. Additionally, since 2021, HSI has also seized $4.3 billion worth of cryptocurrency.
