Vice President Kamala Harris is under pressure to reassess her stance on cryptocurrency as it becomes a key issue in the US presidential race. Pro-crypto Democrats are urging her to reconsider her anti-crypto stance, while President Trump has embraced crypto and is gaining support from crypto voters.
Rep. Wiley Nickel criticized Trump's crypto approach, saying it's a calculated election strategy, and also took aim at SEC Chair Gary Gensler's handling of the issue. Nickel doubts that Harris will remove Gensler, but believes she needs to take a pro-crypto stance to maintain the US' leadership in emerging technologies.
