According to BlockBeats, Bitcoin mining company Bitfarms has scheduled a special shareholder meeting for October 29, 2024. This decision follows a request made by Riot Platforms on June 24, 2024. The primary agenda of the meeting will focus on the removal of current Chairman and Interim CEO Nicolas Bonta, Director Andrés Finkielsztain, and newly appointed Director Fanny Philip. Philip recently replaced co-founder Emiliano Grodzki, who was ousted by the shareholders. On July 8, 2024, Bitfarms appointed Ben Gagnon as the new CEO, but he has not yet joined the board and is therefore not subject to removal. Additionally, Riot Platforms has nominated three candidates for the Bitfarms board: John Delaney, an expert in government and public affairs; Amy Freedman, a specialist in corporate governance and capital markets; and Ralph Goehring, who has extensive experience as a CFO in the finance and energy sectors.
