Rogue Company has disclosed its intentions to cut ties with livestream gamer Dr Disrespect completely. According to Hi-Rez, the decision to scrub Dr D’s in-game content came following allegations of inappropriate behavior with a minor. The game’s developer and publisher engaged a concerned Reddit fanbase, promising to refund all gamers affected by the recent update.

Hi-Rez Studios confirmed that the $40 (~£30) Dr Disrespect premium bundle had been removed from its third-person shooter game weeks after Guy “Dr Disrespect” Beahm was accused of ‘going rogue’ with a minor. Rogue Company’s publisher emphasized that the ‘Arena Map’ dedicated to Beahm and the Dr Disrespect skin would all be wiped out.

Rogue Company is set to refund all affected players

In the first update in over 12 months, Rogue Company confirmed that it deleted all mentions and items related to Dr Disrespect. Initially, Rogue Company announced an emergency maintenance exercise to address ‘a technical issue’ before disclosing the reason.

Hey Rogue Company, we have disabled Dr. Disrespect content previously available on game. We will provide full Rogue Buck refunds to any impacted account this week.

However, Rogue Company announced it would give full refunds in Rogue Bucks to players who had previously purchased the now-removed in-game items associated with Dr Disrespect. According to the game , impacted players would get back 2,000 Rogue Bucks for the Dr Disrespect skin and 2,000 for the bundle.

Inactive and active players not satisfied with a Rogue Bucks refund were asked by Rogue Company to seek actual cash refunds from the systems in which their purchases were made.

“Rogue bucks will be automatic. If you want to try your luck at a cash refund from the store you purchased through you’ll need to initiate that on your own.”

The decision to clean out Dr. Disrespect’s content was met with mixed feelings by fans like WhtDaQuack, who wondered why the developers never put the same energy into updating the game.

Dr Disrespect was banned on Twitch

Former Twitch CPM Cody Conners disclosed that Dr. Disrespect was banned from Twitch for sexting with a minor through Whispers. According to comedian and writer VITO, former Twitch employee Cody Conners had risked his reputation and a potential lawsuit by publicly declaring the reason for Dr Disrespect’s permanent ban on Twitch.

Conners alleged that Dr Disrespect had made plans to meet the minor at TwitchCon. However, Dr Disrespect defended himself in a long tweet statement claiming that these allegations were false and unverified. The livestream gamer started by apologizing to his community of 2.5M X followers and his team at Midnight Society Game Studio.

“Now, from a moral standpoint I’ll absolutely take responsibility.  I should have never entertained these conversations to begin with. That’s on me. That’s on me as an adult, a husband and a father.  It should have never happened.”

Dr Disrespect said he was never going to reveal the details of what actually happened until two former Twitch employees made the story public. He claimed that while he had allowed a few conversations to ‘lean too much’ towards being inappropriate, nothing illegal happened.
