Crypto users beware! Scammers impersonating Coinbase representatives have targeted at least four users this week, with one victim reporting a loss of $1.7 million. The fraudsters trick victims into sharing their seed phrase, claiming to be from Coinbase's security team. They send emails that appear to be from Coinbase, verifying their identity and showing outgoing transactions. Despite knowing it's unsafe, the victim entered part of their seed phrase on a website, leading to a massive loss. Hiro Systems CEO Alex Miller warns that such sites capture data as you enter it, enabling scammers to brute force the rest. Be vigilant, folks!
