What Is the Isolated Margin Auto-Transfer Mode?

2023-12-22 01:55

The Isolated Margin Auto-Transfer Mode lets you place orders using the available assets from both your Spot and Margin Wallets. If your Isolated Margin Account balance is insufficient when placing an order, the system will automatically transfer the required amount of assets from your Spot Wallet to your Isolated Margin Wallet.

You may also transfer assets to your Margin Wallet manually. For more details, please refer to How to Transfer Funds to Binance Margin Account?.

How to activate the Isolated Margin Auto-Transfer Mode?

If you’re using the Binance website:

1. Log in to your Binance account and go to [Trade] - [Margin]. Choose a trading pair and select the Isolated Margin mode.

2. Go to [Preferences]. Select [Auto] next to [Isolated Margin Transfer Mode].

If you’re using the Binance app:

1. Log in to your Binance app and tap [Trade] - [Margin]. Tap the [...] icon and go to [Features] - [Preferences].

2. Tap [Transfer Mode] and choose [Auto Mode].

How does the Isolated Margin Auto-Transfer Mode work?

Once you’ve activated the Isolated Margin Transfer Mode, a token’s available balance displayed on the Isolated Margin trading interface will include the available balance in your Spot Wallet. Consequently, the maximum borrowable amount will be calculated based on the updated available balance.

For example, suppose you have 20 USDC available in your Spot Wallet. If you place an order of 40 USDC in the Auto-Borrow Mode, the system will automatically transfer the 20 USDC from your Spot Wallet to your Margin Wallet first, and borrow another 20 USDC to place this order.

What is the [Close Position] function?

You may also use the [Close Position] function after activating the Isolated Margin Transfer Mode. This function enables you to fully repay any outstanding liabilities using the available assets in your Isolated Margin Account. It will convert the remaining assets into one of the trading pair tokens and transfer them back to your Spot Wallet.

To enable the [Close Position] function:

1. Go to the [Positions] tab on the Isolated Margin trading page. Click [Close Position] next to the position you wish to close.

2. You may choose one of the trading pair tokens to receive your remaining assets. For example, you can choose [Settle in USDC] or [Settle in BTC] for the BTC/USDC pair. Click [Confirm].

3. Your debt in this Isolated Margin account will be repaid. Any remaining balance will be converted to the selected token and transferred to your Spot Wallet.
