Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is a multi-layered security mechanism, designed to verify the identity of a user before granting them access to an account. It adds an additional layer of protection against unauthorized access.
2FA is particularly crucial for safeguarding your crypto assets and Binance account. Even if a hacker manages to obtain your password, they would still need the second factor (e.g., Google Authenticator) to gain entry to your account, making it considerably more challenging to breach your security.
Before you begin, please download and install the official BAuthenticator app on your mobile device.
1. Log into your Binance account and mouse over the [Profile] icon. Click [Account].
2. Go to [Security]. Click [Manage] next to [Authenticator App].
3. Click [Enable Authenticator App].
4. You’ll see a QR code and a setup key. Do not click [Next] before the BAuthenticator setup is complete.
Open your BAuthenticator app and tap [Scan QR code] to scan the QR code. If you’re unable to scan it, tap [Enter a setup key] and enter the code manually. You should see a new account named “Binance.com” added to your BAuthenticator.
Go back to your computer and click [Next] to proceed.
5. Verify your BAuthenticator by entering the 6-digit code generated by the app.
6. You have successfully enabled BAuthenticator for your Binance account.
1. You may swipe left on the code to [Pin], [Edit], [Export], or [Delete] an account.
2. Tap the [+] button on the top right corner to add multiple accounts to your BAuthenticator.
3. To customize the name of an account, swipe left on the 2FA code and tap [Edit].
4. You may export an account tied to your BAuthenticator to another device. Tap [Export] and scan the QR code with the new device.
1. Click [Manage] next to [Authenticator App].
2. Click the edit button next to your authenticator.
3. Click [Continue] on the pop-up window to proceed.
Please note in order to protect your account, withdrawals and P2P transactions will be disabled for 24 hours after you change your Authenticator.
4. Complete 2FA to continue.
5. You’ll see a QR code and a 16-digit code. Scan the QR code with another authenticator or enter the 16-digit code manually. Please make sure you’ve completed this step in your new authenticator before clicking [Next].
6. Enter the 6-digit code from your new authenticator and click [Submit].
7. Your authenticator has been reset. Please note that withdrawals and P2P transactions will be disabled for 24 hours after changing your authenticator.
