Binance Will Support the Bitcoin (BTC) Taproot Upgrade

Fellow Binancians,

Binance will support the Bitcoin (BTC) Taproot upgrade.

At Bitcoin mainnet block height of 709,632, or approximately on 2021-11-14 (UTC), the Bitcoin (BTC) network will undergo a soft fork named Taproot upgrade, which aims to improve the network’s privacy, efficiency and smart contracts capability.

Please note:

• The Bitcoin (BTC) network upgrade & soft fork will take place at Bitcoin mainnet block height of 709,632. The estimated time is for users’ reference only and is subject to change depending on block propagation times.
• The trading of BTC will not be affected during this upgrade.
• The Bitcoin (BTC) network upgrade & soft fork will not result in new token being created.
• Binance will handle all technical requirements involved for all users holding BTC in their Binance accounts.
