🚨 Ever Heard of a "Replay Attack"? I Became a Victim! 🚨

After a decade, I finally recalled the password to my Bitcoin wallet—a moment of celebration! 🎉 Since I had held BTC for so long, I also accumulated its forked versions, including Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and eCash (XEC). Eager to consolidate everything into a multi-platform wallet, I began transferring funds.
As part of this process, I moved my XEC from Electrum ABC to Binance. Everything seemed to go smoothly… until 10 minutes later, when I checked my Electron Cash wallet—to my shock, my BCH balance had vanished! 😱💸
Understanding the Replay Attack 🛡️
This was a classic replay attack, a security risk that can arise after a blockchain fork. Here’s how it works:
1️⃣ Shared History: When a blockchain undergoes a hard fork (such as Bitcoin splitting into Bitcoin Cash), both chains share the same transaction history up to the moment of the split. 📜
2️⃣ Transaction Vulnerability: If replay protection is not properly implemented, transactions on one chain can be replicated on the other. 🔁

3️⃣ The Issue in My Case: When I sent XEC, the exact same transaction—same amount, same fee, same transaction hash—was broadcasted on the BCH network. As a result, my BCH was unintentionally sent to an address I didn’t control. 😓 Possibly, it was linked to the same private key as my XEC address.
Lessons Learned & Security Precautions 🔐

🔹 Key Takeaway: If you’re handling assets from a forked blockchain, always check for replay protection before initiating transactions. Splitting your coins on different chains can prevent this issue and safeguard your holdings.

Opinion: Trading is boring and should be automated as much as possible. If you cut out the emotions of big wins (luck) and losses (greed), you are left with small amounts of profits and with only a fraction of your holdings you can ride the bull. for most traders even regular small profits are out of reach. they trade with too much, hoping for the big run that makes them rich. then they watch the screen for four years seeing their hard earned money losing value, and the hope of the 4 year cycle is all that's left. it may come or not but if it happens the bull run ends at their break even or a little bit above. their annual return isn't much bigger than buying big tech socks. pretty boring.

And another red flag:

It seems that the genius who converted debt into 'wealth' will get his strategy wrong for not understanding the bitcoin pattern, you can think what you want, unfortunately companies and big investors work differently, if they see that the price affects their profitability they sell, they are not here to become millionaires like you, they are already millionaires, so they will protect their capital no matter what it takes, very bad times are coming for Bitcoin and especially for DEFI and altcoins, that's why I got out of the ATH.

I have been defending the crypto market day and night for 2 years (in this halving), it's time to attack it downwards until it hits the bottom, when the deer start to bleed, there is usually a stampede and the inverse assets do their parabolic cycle.
