[Orange Pill App successfully received $250,000 in new venture capital to build a social layer for Bitcoin]
Social networking app Orange Pill App successfully raised $250,000 in new venture capital today. The round was led by Lightning Ventures, with participation from angel investors including NBA star Matthew Dellavedova and Barefoot Bitcoin Fund.
Launched in November 2022, the Orange Pill App is available for iOS and Android platforms and aims to integrate face-to-face communication into the digital world, form and cultivate a community of real Bitcoin enthusiasts, and lay a solid foundation for the Bitcoin parallel economy.
CEO Matteo Pellegrini said: "We are committed to tapping the power of face-to-face communication and strengthening local community connections. As the platform continues to add features, we will focus on the tools to create a Bitcoin parallel economy."
Since its launch, the Orange Pill App has an extensive user base in 71 countries. Mike Jarmuzz, a partner at Lightning Ventures, praised Matteo as one of the most dynamic entrepreneurs whose passion for building Bitcoin’s social layer is inspiring. Bob Burnett, managing partner of Barefoot Bitcoin Fund, also highlighted the importance of the platform in connecting the Bitcoin community, making the case for investing in the project.
