11 days to go before the first round of debates between US presidential candidates!

Last month, US Democratic President Biden "challenged" his Republican predecessor Trump, proposing to abandon decades of autumn debate traditions and hold two offline debates in advance, which the latter accepted. The two debates were hosted by CNN and ABC on June 27 and September 10, respectively.

On June 15, local time, CNN released the rules for the first US presidential candidate debate. During the 90-minute debate, both candidates will stand in front of a unified podium, and the position of the podium will be determined by tossing a coin. Candidates will be given a pen, a piece of paper and a bottle of water, and props cannot be used. In addition, except for the moment when the candidate takes the turn to speak, the microphone will remain muted at other times. The moderator will use all available tools to enforce timing and ensure civilized discussion.

The first debate on June 27 will be the first time Biden and Trump have "face to face" in the same occasion in nearly four years. The US presidential candidate debate has been held by the non-partisan organization "Presidential Debate Commission" since 1988, but Biden and Trump have previously intended to bypass the commission to directly debate. The US presidential election is scheduled to be held in early November. Although Biden and Trump have "locked" the Democratic and Republican presidential candidates respectively, they have not yet been officially confirmed as the presidential candidates of their respective parties by their national conventions.

Let us wait and see what this debate will bring to the presidential concept meme! #美国大选
