💎 $IO - is it worth buying the io.net token?

io.net is a decentralized computing network using artificial intelligence.

The platform acts as a giant and decentralized marketplace where suppliers can use their idle GPU in exchange for cryptocurrency rewards. Operating like a typical decentralized physical infrastructure platform (DePIN), io.net connects providers and consumers of computing power via blockchain.

Among the main competitors: Render, Akash Network, Aethir, NetMind.AI, Nosana, Gensyn.

đŸ’Œ Investors:

A total of $40 million was invested in the io.net project. 181.6 million $IO coins were sold to investors (22.7% of the total number of coins).

Among the main investors: Hack VC, Delphi Digital, Multicoin Capital, Solana Ventures, OKX Ventures, Aptos Labs, etc.

Main funding rounds:

🟠Seed Round - invested $10 million and 100 million coins were allocated for this round, price per coin is $0.1.

🟠Series A - invested $30 million and the valuation of this round was $0.5-1 billion. Price per coin $0.625 – 1.25. But this does not quite correlate with tokenomics; if the investment amount is divided by the number of coins allocated for this round, the figure will be $0.36.

The average price of funds is ~$0.5.

Information about investors is very opaque and differs on different resources. The funds that invested in the Seed round were also not disclosed, but they were sold more coins than in Series A and at a more favorable price. Let's assume that the funds in these two rounds are almost similar and thus simply increased the valuation of the project.

Investors will begin receiving their coins on July 11, 2025.

📈 When should you consider buying $IO?

The total number of $IO coins is 800 million. There are currently 95 million $IO tokens on the market, 12% of the total coin supply (at the time of publication 06/15/2024).

The coin has an inflationary pattern. In the first year, inflation will be 8%; in the future, inflation will decrease every month.

Why do you need the $IO coin:

🟱Used to pay for services, if you pay in $IO coin, there will be no 2% commission. If you pay in $USDC, then a 2% commission is removed, for these funds a $IO coin is purchased from the market and the purchased emission is burned;

🟱Staking;

🟱Management token.

Tokenomics:

🟠50% - Coins are allocated for community development. Linear unlocking for 20 years;

🟠22.65% - Investors. One year lock, then linear vesting for three years;

🟠16% - Research and development of the project. Linear distribution until December 2027;

🟠11.35% - Project team. One year lock, then linear vesting for three years.

What purchase prices do we consider the most interesting?

🟱Ideal option - $2

🟱Great option - $3

🟱Good option - $3.5-4

We don’t expect to see $IO coin below $2. Nowadays, most projects come out overvalued and then the price of the coin gradually dumps. With the $IO project, the MM strategy is built differently and over the past few months we have seen an unusual pump immediately after listing. We admit that we will continue to grow, but we would not jump on this train now.

In our opinion, this is a project in which FDV can be greatly inflated due to long unlocks, like in $ONDO, $WLD or $ENA. At the same time, the capitalization of the project will remain within reason.

Compared to its competitors, the project is undervalued in terms of capitalization. Capitalization of RNDR ~ $3.4 billion, AKT ~ $750 million, $IO currently ~ $500 million.

Estimated capitalization in the altseason: from $5 billion.
