According to CoinDesk, Mathew Sweezey, co-founder of Salesforce Web3 Studio, has joined tokenization company Smart Token Labs as chief strategy officer, aiming to introduce Ethereum-based smart tokens into the broader Web3 ecosystem. Sweezey believes that the ERC-5169 token standard (smart tokens) can help more users access Web3. Smart tokens combine the functions of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and smart contracts. Unlike the common ERC-721 and ERC-1155 token standards, smart tokens can be used to perform predetermined tasks, such as autonomously interacting with other wallets or trading on behalf of users. Sweezey said he hopes to help more users access Web3 through smart tokens and lower technical barriers, such as without having to set up a crypto wallet first. Smart Token Labs provides companies with tokenization infrastructure to enter Web3, using its native Smart Layer network to help companies build their own smart tokens and create composable, interoperable digital experiences.
