According to TechFlow, Polygon ID has been spun off from Polygon Labs and renamed Privado ID to expand beyond the Polygon network.

The initiative aims to meet global demand for digital identity and reputation solutions that can be used with online and on-chain data in an era of increasing identity theft, fraud, and AI-generated content.

Privado ID’s team includes Polygon co-founders David Schwartz and Antoni Martin as CEO and COO, Jordi Baylina, a key figure in Polygon’s zkEVM development, as technical advisor, and Polygon Labs co-founder Sandeep Nailwal as growth advisor.

They believe Privado ID’s technology will revolutionize the way individuals, institutions and organizations discover and interact with each other in connected spaces, reducing the cost of trust and mitigating the risk of identity theft, fraud and misinformation.
