A businessman in Nonthaburi, Thailand was deceived by criminals to invest in digital currency.

The criminal created a Line account under the name "Oil" and used a beautiful woman's avatar. After adding friends, he chatted with the victim and became friends.

After a period of time, he began to persuade the victim to invest in stocks and recommended him to use Trust App to invest in digital currency (USDT), claiming that the application is a wallet for storing digital currency for investment.

After the victim was deceived, the criminal sent a fake website link called ercadia.bio, claiming that it was used to transfer digital assets for USDT currency investment and notify the victim of the profit from the investment.

The victim then continued to transfer his investment funds many times, with a total loss of 300 million baht.

On April 23, 2024, the police arrested Ms. Atima. After expanding the investigation, another participant, Mr. Atthaphon, 38, was arrested in Nong Prue District, Chonburi Province. He is currently detained in Nong Kung Si District, Kalasin Province.

On May 15, 2024, the police arrested other suspects involved in this case and followed up on the defrauded assets.

The above persons will face charges of "jointly deceiving others and jointly laundering money." They will face further legal proceedings.
