[Aptos user transaction volume reaches record high]
Aptos, the Layer 1 blockchain platform developed by former Facebook employees, has reached a new milestone in blockchain transactions. On May 25, Aptos’ single-day transaction volume reached 115.4 million, surpassing Solana’s 31.7 million.
This transaction volume set a new benchmark and significantly surpassed the previous Layer 1 record of 65 million transactions set by Sui Network, an increase of more than 50%.
According to data from Aptoscan, the transactions per second (TPS) of the Aptos blockchain also reached an all-time high of 32,000 on the same day, showing significant growth and momentum in activity within the blockchain ecosystem.
Aptos’ recent surge in transactions can largely be attributed to the rapid popularity of newly launched tap-to-earn game Tapos Cat. The game processed 10 million transactions on its first day of mainnet launch, significantly increasing the amount of activity on the platform.
In the Tapos Cat game, users can earn $HEART tokens by "ticking" virtual cats, and the game structure facilitates multiple transactions. Additionally, the game offers a gas-free experience for the first 72 hours, encouraging players to participate and enjoy the game at no additional cost.
Despite high transaction volume, Aptos maintains stable gas fees and success rates. This is thanks to the aggregator function on the Aptos platform, which can handle multiple transactions simultaneously, ensuring a smooth and efficient user experience.
The CEO of Helius Labs expressed doubts about Tapos Cat's sustainability and practical use, questioning that the game artificially boosts metrics through clicks and purchases rather than truly meeting user needs.
Although Tapos Cat may seem to lack a clear purpose at first glance, Aptos backers believe that it demonstrates the stability and scalability of the Aptos network, paving the way for future development.
Aptos Labs is committed to its mission of making decentralized assets accessible to billions of people. On May 9, the Aptos Labs team introduced new global advisors, including former Google VP of Corporate Development David Lawee.
In November 2023, Aptos Labs and Atomrigs Lab announced plans to cooperate with South Korean telecom operator SK Telecom (SKT) to launch the Web3 wallet service T wallet.
