"Bitcoin Pizza Day" is to commemorate the successful purchase of physical goods with Bitcoin. May 22nd of each year is designated as "Bitcoin Pizza Day".
In May 2010, a programmer used 10,000 Bitcoins to buy two pizzas, and the transaction was successful four days later. At the time, the price of buying pizza was only $0.004 per BTC, but if it were put into today, these 10,000 BTC would be worth nearly $80 million.
