Inflation in the UK đŹđ§ fell to 2.3% in April, close to the Bank of England's target.
Core inflation, which excludes energy, food, alcohol and tobacco, fell to 3.9% from 4.2%.
The Bank of England has said it is open to cutting interest rates at some point this summer but stressed that the timing of the cut will depend on new data.
